Notes:

William's parents remain unproven to me, but Jesse Bowen received a Land Patent in Lawrence County, Mississippi 5 Jan 1841, and may be related to William in some manner. E. L. Bowen, a long-time resident in Lawrence County, was there as early as 1840, age 30-40, and may possibly be a brother or cousin to William.
