Ellisville, the seat of justice of Jones County, is situated as nearly as may be in the geographical center of the county, and has a good trade with the township round about.
Other small towns in the county are Laurel, Sandersville, Estabutchee and Tuscaloma.
All of the points above mentioned are stations on the New Orleans & Northeastern railroad.
